Key Responsibilities:
- Install and test network cabling, including Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, and fiber optic cables.
- Set up network racks, patch panels, cable trays, and conduits.
- Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues and repair or replace damaged cables.
- Review job files and CAD design drawings.
- Certify installations to ensure compliance with performance standards and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance, repairs, upgrades, inventory, materials, time, and travel.
- Ensure smooth communication between job sites and company personnel, update project manager on status.
- Maintain dependability for positive customer relationships.
- Promote full-service agreements.
- Participate in training to maintain professional and technical knowledge.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of commercial cable installation experience.
- Experience with network cabling (Cat5, Cat6, fiber optic) and closet work is a plus.
- Understanding of telecommunications infrastructure.
- Experience with pre-cabling preparation, installation of patch panels, punch down 66/110 blocks, and various data/voice jacks.
- Reliable transportation, valid Driver's License, and clean driving record.
- Working mobile phone.
- Pass a background check and drug screen.

- Screwdriver Set (Phillips #1, #2, & #3 and Flathead Small, Medium, & Large)
- Sheetrock Saw (or Keyhole Saw) and Hacksaw
- Crescent Wrench Set (Small & Medium)

- Open End/Box End Wrench Set (Ranging from 1/4" to 3/4")
- Kleins Lineman's Pliers or Side Cutters
- Channel Lock Pliers (Small & Medium)
- Punch Tool with 110 & 66 Blade
- Tone and Probe Kit (Progressive Electronics 200EP or Similar)
- Tape Measure, Torpedo Level, and Flashlight
- Caulking Gun
- Tin or Aviation Snips
- Hammer-Touch Label Maker (Brother PT-1090 or PT-1010)
- Tool Bag or Tool Box
Physical Demands:
- Ability to perform heavy manual tasks and operate necessary tools and equipment.
- Frequently push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds; occasionally up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, crouch, kneel, and reach.
- Good speaking, hearing, and visual abilities, including near and far acuity, color vision, and depth perception.
- Requires manual dexterity for handling tools and equipment.
Work Environment:
- Exposure to various weather conditions when working outdoors.
- May occasionally be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic chemicals, and risk of electric shock.
- Primarily works on-site at various locations; occasionally travels for installation and maintenance.
- Works near moving mechanical parts and in various environments, including heights and confined spaces. Requires proper PPE, including safety glasses and hearing protection.
